A Clinical Experience of Suction Assisted Lipectomy

Abstract

In 1997, Illouze of Paris, France, began to use liposuction with a high vacuum suction and a small blunt cannula to the patients who have unnecessary fat accumlation, which has led to the popularity of this technique of suction-assisted lipectomy
in
many countries.
After the suction technique dependable at the Los Angeles meeting in the United Ststes in feburary 1983, the autherr began to apply this technique in my center from 1985. Now it has gained popularity as a procedure in fields of Plastic Surgery.
In my experience over the past 7 years, 14 patients have undergone suction assisted lipectomy at my center.
This article provides the reader with understanding of systems and methods of suction assisted lipectomy, and presents my clinical experience.
